Baby It’s Cold Outside …. 3 Ways to Survive this Winter!

Thursday, December 3, 2015

The days of sand and summer are long gone now and if you're anything like us, you are already dreaming of those days again. We figured since we have many, many days months left before that golden glow reappears we might as well make the most of it. What better way than to ohhhh and ahhhh over this perfectly outfitted winter closet!

après ski outfits, winter boots, amazing closets, organized closets, winter coats

1. Besides the obvious of planning a warm winter getaway, take this winter to make sure you have all of your heavy coats properly hanging. They should most definitely be on sturdy hangers (matching of course) and placed all facing the same direction. This helps to shop them more easily! You can even take it an extra step by zipping each coat so they hang evenly and always look perfect in your space. These are our most recent favorite hangers to use in a coat closet space!

2. It's a misconception that you should protect your coats (think furs, cashmeres and leathers) with a garment bag placed over them. We've learned the hard way that this is a huge no-no. Your fine fabrics should be able to breathe at all times! Once the winters over, if you really want to cover them to keep dust away, consider investing in a breathable linen cover with an open bottom.

3. As far as winter boots go … they are always challenging to find enough closet space for. From the shelving height not being high enough to all the boots toppling over, this is definitely a problem area. Consider placing boot inserts inside each of your boots. Yes, we realize this is a lot of maintenance per boot, but don't you want the most organized closet you can get?!?!

Ok, who's ready for some apres skiing with us in this wardrobe of fur trimmed coats that you see?? Hot toddy's all around!
