As we mentioned, we have a few new faces in SF! Today we want to welcome Hannah Goetz! We are so excited she’s now officially a NEAT girl, and can’t wait for all of you to get to know her. We sat down for a few quick questions with the new NEAT East Bay Owner so you can see why we love her so much!
Welcome Hannah! We are so excited you’re now officially a NEAT girl, and can’t wait for our followers to get to know you.
NM :: What made you decide to run NEAT in your city?
HG :: After running The Bar Method for 10 years, I knew my next chapter also involved owning my own business. Pursuing something I was passionate about that allowed me to make a positive impact on people’s lives was a must for me…owning a Neat Method territory seemed like the perfect fit!
NM :: What makes your city unique?
HG :: We’ve lived in Orinda for 2.5 years, it’s a small town in the East Bay, which was developed post WWII. A number of original home owners still live here and many people who grew up here have moved back to raise their own families. This makes for a very tight knit multi-generational community. I love that Orinda has a small town feel, but it is just a quick 18 miles to Downtown San Francisco.
NM :: Sounds like you know what’s going on in the area – what are your favorite places to shop in your city?
HG :: Serena & Lily Outlet in Berkeley (I stalk them after deliveries on Tues & Fridays), J.Crew for clothes, Whimsy for kids, Terrain for garden/outdoor (it’s located in the new Anthropologie in Walnut Creek).
NM :: What about your favorite places to eat?
HG :: A16, Sideboard, Barranco, Pizza Antica (with kids).
NM :: Since you’re an organizer, we’d love to see your most organized space. What is it?
HG :: Definitely my kitchen. My kids love that they can see all their snacks in the pantry at their level.
NM :: So great! What about your LEAST organized space? What happened?!
HG :: We have a hall closet that we use for coats and my husband’s office stuff. It is now packed with all the things that used to be stored under my daughter’s bed which we just recently moved to my son’s room. The new bed frame we have in his room is lower and now nothing fits under it! #needtotacklethis
NM :: What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT in your city?
HG :: I am excited to build an amazing team to help guide NEAT clients through the editing process and create organizational solutions they can actually implement in their lives, so they can feel clutter free!
NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?
HG :: I’m a super positive person who will take the time to listen to what each client needs and come up with a game plan from there. I am also really great at making a house full of kids look clean and tidy, rather than taken over by toys!
NM :: Now that’s a skill! Do you have any other hidden talents that we should know about?
HG :: Oh, I can arrange a pretty professional looking flower arrangement.
NM :: What is your favorite product to use to organize things?
HG :: I really love Water Hyacinth Baskets because they go with so many decor styles, are durable and you can’t totally see what’s inside, so they make a space look very clean and uniform. They also come in a variety of sizes, so can be placed in lots different spaces throughout the home allowing for a consistent look.
NM :: What blog do you think we NEED to follow now and why?
HG :: Jenny’s blog devoted to slowing down, homemade meals (her recipes are easy and yummy!), cozy homes, easy entertaining, special holidays and Everyday Occasions. I am also obsessed with the items in her shop!
NM :: Now that you’re a business owner, what other business do you admire and why?
HG :: Beautycounter because they are a company devoted to progress and getting safer beauty products into the hands of everyone. They are committed to a health and safety standard that goes well beyond what is legally required in the United States and have banned more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals.
