How To :: Plan your Week

It will probably come as no surprise that the NEAT girls love a good calendar system! We use a variety of planners, online programs and other tools to stay organized, so we wanted to share our go-to tips for planning out your week!

1. Schedule a day to plan

This may seem redundant, but it’s helpful when you have a designated day of the week to plan for the following week – we like to get our planning done on Sunday.

2. Choose a week at a glance planner.

Using a weekly option allows you to focus only on the week ahead. There are SO many options to choose from, but here are some of our favorites:

3. Start with the big items

Are you traveling the next week? Do you need to remember to include field trip money for your kiddo? Is there a crucial errand you need to run? Be sure to add these important items first.

4. Add in the extras

Add in your workout classes, dinner menu, happy hours, etc. It’s important to add in some fun to your week and make sure you haven’t double-booked yourself. 😉

5. Place in a prominent place

We suggest keeping this weekly planner out on your desk, or posted somewhere everyone will see it. The kitchen or mudroom are great options for a central location.

Now that the week is planned you can go through the week with peace of mind that the schedule will be managable and everyone will be on the same page.
