Splurge vs. Save - How to Create a NEAT Space for Every Budget

Organizing can make your house look like a million bucks BUT that doesn't mean you have to spend a million. We have become experts at working within our client's budgets so today, we are going to give you the details on how to splurge and save in particular places throughout your home. First up is the dirtiest NEAT job out there... the garage! We certainly know how to splurge in this space by saying two words, "Fusion Wall." This system is great because it can be adjusted and changed as the needs of your family changes.

Alternatively, by purchasing bakers racks and bins, you can also make a large imact on how you store things in your garage for a fraction of the price.

Spending a lot in a child's closet is sometimes hard to justify. When you do decide to go with a custom closet, it certainly can look really, REALLY good!

Our own NEAT girl, Mika opted to purchase this affordable ikea shelving unit instead and it looks fabulous in her daugther's room!

When it comes to hangers, it's surprising how much you can spend on the perfect place to keep your pants wrinkle free. These are some of the pricier ones we have worked with.

This next space looks equally as great but the hangers are three times less!

Finally, one of our favorite places to organize in a kitchen pantry. The quickest way to spend money fast is on these oxo containers. They are AMAZING but also quite expensive.

neat method, pantry, organized, organizer, home organization, oxo containers, professional organizer, luxury kitchen, home style, home design, home decor

If you want to get that NEAT look for less, consider using some bins to categorize like items instead of putting them in individual containers. Then only use the oxo for things that truly need their own space.

What are you splurging/saving on in your home?

According to a NEAT Girl :: 9 Wedding Registry Items that MUST be on Your List

Lucky for us, our NEAT girl, Brooke is getting MARRIED this Summer and we cannot wait! Besides the fact that she will be a drop dead GORGEOUS bride, we have been loving the inside scoop on how to plan a wedding like a NEAT girl. There are so many things we need to tell you about when in comes to wedding planning but we figured we would share one of the most important parts:: the registry. It is a fine, fine line between registering for beautiful, timeless pieces, and getting a little "trigger happy" with the registry gun at the store. Brooke and her fiance, Andrew have officially mastered the art of registering.

Presidential Organization :: 4 First Class Items that Will Have You Elected for Most Organized

It should come as no surprise that every holiday leaves us thinking about organizing. If you spent your Presidents Day relaxing, we have a few items that will make up for your lack of productivity over the long weekend. Because we like puns and *think* we are SUPER witty, we have connected them all with a bit of a Presidential twist - First up...

:: SECRET SERVICE ::

Want to keep certain things private in your home but still organized? We are in love with the fun color choices of this Poppin file cabinet that has a drawer that can be LOCKED. Seriously, if you haven't gone to their site yet, there is truly a color for everyone!

:: AIR FORCE 1 ::

Ready to make travel easier? The NEAT girls cannot go anywhere without the Cordito Cord and Plug Rollup. Whether you are flying on Air Force 1, first class or the last seat in the middle on a plane, this is sure to make your travel life a breeze!

:: STATE OF THE UNION ::

Ready to keep the family informed? Want to address everyone less often about what time sports practice is? Grab a Whitney English Day Designer and keep it in a high traffic area of your home (think kitchen, mudroom, family room) that way everyone can check and see what is on the agenda for the week.

:: CORRESPONDENTS' DINNER ::

Have you always wanted to step up your dinner game but don't have the room in your home to add more "stuff" to your kitchen? Consider adding these small, easy to store, compostable and reusable (can be washed up to FIVE TIMES!) napkin rolls from Hudson Grace. They will make even a frozen meal seem fancy and take up no room in your home!

Hope you had a wonderful Presidents Day and are now feeling ready to lead the world (in life organization at least!)

Our Valentines Day Crushes Revealed

It's hard to believe that another Valentines Day is right around the corner. Usually during this time, we like to share which latest celebrity we are currently crushing on but in an attempt to stay "on task" and organized, (we are NEAT Method afterall!) we are going to share some new products that we would LOVE to have in our current spaces. First, this amazing piece called, Woodstock Wall  is maybe the most beautiful version of a hanging rack we have ever seen! This would be perfect for a temporary space or a room that needs to serve multiple purposes (think closet/office).

It will come as no surprise that we are always on the hunt for the next beautiful basket that we cannot live without. This month, we have a serious crush on this Jute basket with silver accents that can be found on Adorno.

Home offices and "Command Centers" can be difficult spaces to make look aesthetically pleasing with all of the supplies that are needed in order to function. Anthropologie has decided to solve our problems with this hanging desk organizer that has a pocket or peg for EVERYTHING!

Last but certaintly not least, another new favorite product that the NEAT girls are seeing hearts over are these handcrafted containers made in Uganda that one of our favorite sites, The Citizenry happens to carry. We can think of about 100 ways to use these:: Silverware, pencil cup, change holder, and "catch cup" are just a few that come to mind...

Who needs an actual Valentine when you've fallen in love with your space? Or, if you have a Valentine that is looking for a gift for you... don't hesitate to share this post with him/her... they will get the hint!

5 Ways to Love Your Space More this Month

Happy February! We are officially in the month of love. This month, we are going to be sharing how to have a great relationship with your home. Forget finding Mr./Mrs. Right and get ready to fall in love with your space! Today, we are sharing five products that will help you love some of those more difficult spaces in your home. First up, is tackling that horrible pile of mail you have... everywhere... :) We found this adorable Etsy page, Jennifer Helene Home  that makes these great CUSTOM canvas bins for your problem areas. You can pick everything down to the words and the thread color!

Speaking of personalized, it is always nice to have a pouch (or two!) to keep your smaller items in check. From chargers and headphones for your phone to gift certificates, receipts and coupons for your favorite stores, these dipped canvas pouches are sure to make you happy. It's time to clean out the junk drawer and love opening a drawer with a few of these instead!

Nothing makes a NEAT girl happier than walking into the Container Store to find new products. The Tosca basket has caught our eye and we can't stop using it! It is the perfect way to give your pantry a pick-me-up.  Contain foods by category to prevent over buying. By doing this, your wallet will love you too!

Have a nightstand that keeps you awake at night? We love the simplicity of this sleek wood organizer complete with iphone dock. It's pretty amazing to also find a quality product like this that is made in the USA (Dallas, Texas of course!) Check out Piece Of Shards on Etsy for other great products that will give your friends some serious home envy.

Finally, in case you missed our instagram video from last month, we think every home needs this cable zipper. Nothing is more frustrating than wires everywhere! We fell in love with the cable zipper last month and feel like it's time for you to fall in love too!

We hope you have a wonderful February. Stay tuned on  more ways to love your home this month!

Adult Friendly Toy Bins for Your Home

Homes across the country have their own unique qualities. For example, many homes have basements that can be used as an amazing play space for kids. This makes keeping children's toys in once place SIGNIFICANTLY EASIER. Some homes...don't have basments and that's when the NEAT girls have to get more creative when it comes to toy storage.

When looking at a home that doesn't not have a designated, "play space" the bins and baskets are a crucial part of our plan. They need to be aesthetically pleasing enough to be exposed in a room that is primarly used as an adult space. Lucky for us, Lisa in San Francisco has become a master at this challenge! The first product she loves, are the Cotton Rope Bins from the Container Store. These come in a few sizes and are extra handy since they are not too big for kids to carry on their own!

If your child has a lot of something (like stuffed animals for example) this soft yet durable Woven Felt Hamper from West Elm is your perfect solution!

Looking for something to keep a newborn's necessities in? This caddy we found on Etsy makes changing baby anywhere much easier!

Since San Francisco loves all things local, Lisa couldn't help but share these really great Recycled Canvas Buckets from a store called, Maika. Wait... did we just say recycled AND local? How SF of us!

Want to know more of our favorite products to use in homes? Check out our Pinterest Page for details!
