Michael Jordan's Wife Has Joined NEAT
Did you hear the news?? Michael Jordan's wife decided to join the team! Did you think we meant the NBA player?? Ha! We mean THE Michael Jordan from St. Louis - his wife Alex is launching our newest NEAT city! Today, you are going to get the full scoop on what makes her so great::
NM:: I mean we seriously can't get over the whole Michael Jordan thing, Alex BUT do you have any other hidden talents we should know about?
AJ:: I have been known to carry a tune. I’ve sung at church and have made appearances on stage with local singer/songwriters throughout the years.
NM:: That's awesome! So you must have some organizing skills as well :) What can clients expect when they hire you?
AJ:: A very keen attention to detail! I love everything to have a special place and for those places to make sense for the people using them. I want my customers to learn that, with me, they can expect to receive beautiful and maintainable solutions for their organizational needs.
NM:: So tell us a bit about St. Louis... What makes your city unique?
AJ::I can’t fail to mention the obvious, The Gateway Arch, which is America’s tallest monument. We’re also lucky to have some amazing attractions including one of the country’s best (and free) zoos, countless museums and music venues, as well as Forest Park. Fun fact: Forest Park is nearly twice as big as New York’s Central Park! It’s also the magical location where my now husband and I got engaged. ☺ There are so many fun and special places to visit here. I really think St. Louis is quite underrated by many, in fact!
NM:: You seem to be in love with your city - how long have you lived there?
AJ:: I am proud to say that I was born and raised in this wonderful city. Aside from my time in college, when I lived in Texas, St. Louis has always been my home.
NM:: This is great news for us because it means you know the in's and out's of shopping and eating in St. Louis! First, can you share where you love to eat?
AJ:: The brunch selection at Half & Half is to die for. I love their breakfast sandwiches – with a mimosa, of course! For lunch, I’d recommend tacos from Gringo. If it’s nice out, you can sit on the sidewalk patio and people watch. Dinner must be had on The Hill – St. Louis’ very own “Little Italy.” My favorite is Anthonino’s Taverna. For something sweet, you can never go wrong with a visit to Ted Drewes or Bailey’s Chocolate Bar, both St. Louis staples.
NM:: How about the shopping?
AJ:: Blush Boutique, Cherokee Antique Row, Ivy Hill, and Three French Hens are four you cannot miss while you are here!
NM:: Outside of your city, do you follow any blogs for inspiration?
AJ:: Magnolia Homes – If you’ve seen HGTV’s hit show, Fixer Upper, than you’ll already be familiar with the beautiful and talented Joanna Gaines. This blog is for anyone who loves all things home design. There are amazing DIY projects, plus you can visit the Magnolia online shop and get some of their incredible products for your own home. This little (not so little anymore) shop and inspiring family located in Waco, TX brings back great memories of my time at Baylor University.
NM:: So let's talk PRE NEAT. What did you do before you joined the team?
AJ:: I was a product development coordinator for a women’s footwear company. So yes, I was surrounded by shoes every day. Pretty cool!
NM:: That's awesome! What made you want to make the transition to organizing?
AJ:: Personally, I was looking for an entrepreneurial opportunity that I was passionate about, and something I could start in my city. NEAT will be able to serve St. Louis and its residents by offering a unique service they’re not yet receiving. This is a great city, with great people, and I know they’re going to love what NEAT can do for them!
NM:: What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT in St. Louis?
AJ:: Getting to know my city and the great people who live here a little better. St. Louis has a small town feel despite being a large metropolitan. It seems as though you’re always meeting someone who has connections to other people you know or have known. It will be fun to start making more of those connections as I meet people and forge new relationships around St. Louis.
NM:: Do you have a business that you admire?
AJ:: TOMS Shoes – I love a business with a cause and a mission, and I have always admired TOMS Shoes for being just that. Not only have they created a cool product that tons of people love and wear, but they’re also impacting people in a global sense. I think that’s a pretty sweet deal.
NM:: Okay, you knew it was coming... show us a picture of your least organized space and tell us what went terribly wrong!
AJ:: This is my spice drawer. All of our cabinet space is occupied, so I had to settle for this drawer next to the stove for spices. I’m learning that it’s not working for me (clearly) and I’m now rethinking how some other cabinets in the kitchen are being used. I think I’m going to do an overhaul in there soon to rearrange and make the space more functional. I’ll keep you posted on that endeavor!
NM:: Okay, we will let you redeem yourself! Can you show us a picture of one of your most organized spaces?
AJ:: Sure! This is the closet in my home office, which recently just got a much needed face-lift. I’m loving how simple and clean everything is now! It makes working in my office fun, productive, and relaxing knowing everything has a special place.
NM:: Love! What is your favorite product to use while organizing?
AJ:: I’m a sucker for a good basket! I can’t even begin to imagine how many are actually in my own home right now…
NM:: This has been so fun! Is there anything that else that you think our readers need to know about you?
AJ:: I am so excited to get started with NEAT! I know my clients will appreciate the ways I can help them and I can’t wait to make new friends along the way. I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to begin this new adventure!
We are so happy you found us, Alex! We are looking forward to seeing many new, NEAT spaces in St. Louis! Want to get ahold of Alex OR want to join her team?! Find her contact information here!
