Laundry Closet Transformation w/ Maytag

We are constantly thinking up creative solutions for our client’s spaces – but we are so impressed with what our New Jersey NEAT girl Erika did in her own home, we wanted to take you behind the scenes. Welcome to Erika’s new laundry closet!

Okay, let’s be honest – laundry isn’t most people’s favorite activity, so it’s important to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible. Erika lives in New Jersey and her basement is dark with very low ceilings – which isn’t the best laundry situation. So, our friends at Maytag came through with this beautiful stackable Smart Front Load Washer & Dryer for an upstairs laundry closet.

Here’s where the creativity really comes into play – Erika noticed a spare underused closet in her son’s bedroom, so they closed it off and added a door on the other side creating this beautiful new usable space.

The flush face of Erika’s new units are perfect for tight squeezes (like her small closet). She’s also loving the option for Quick Wash 15-minute cycles which makes it easy to toss in her girls’ lacrosse gear before practice. And, probably the best part of all, the 24-Hr Fresh Hold® Option on the washer keeps clean clothes smelling fresh even if the girls forget to switch the load overnight. Thank goodness!

And it wouldn’t be a NEAT space without some organization! Erika was a bit stumped at first since there was no room for shelving, but she improvised and created an adorable laundry cart – talk about form & function! The essentials are decanted into beautiful jars on the top and there’s even room for towels on the bottom. And when she (or her daughters) are finished with the laundry, the cart can just roll out of the way.

Erika is thrilled with her laundry closet makeover, she proved you can be NEAT in any size space.

Looks great! I leave my dryer balls in the dryer.
