That's right! Our final launch is in Sin City! Not to say that having an unorganized home is a sin… BUT we are officially ready to take on organizing in Las Vegas (we are looking at you JLo, Britney and Celine!) It should come as no surprise to anyone that our latest NEAT girl has a personality that can fill a room and we cannot wait for you to meet her too. Check out our interview with our 18th and FINAL city (for now of course…)
NM:: Hi Melanie! We are so excited to introduce you to our readers. Tell us a bit about yourself!
MW:: My full name is Melanie Suzanne Walker. I'm originally from the Bay Area and moved to Las Vegas in 1996. Wow, 20 years went by fast! I followed my family here and my husband's family is here as well so needless to say we have tons of pool parties and are very close.
NM:: You crack us up! We love all of the jobs you have had and your abilitly to embrace every opportunity. Tell us a bit about your family, are they like you?
MW::I have one daughter Zoie (17), and two step-kids, Ashley (27) and Noah (16). My Husband, Trent and I just celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Trent and I love to take driving adventures to the beach in Cali, and hiking in Utah and Nevada. Although I am a NEAT girl, I don't mind getting a little dirt to explore the outdoors. My daughter is a pre-professional ballerina with Miami City Ballet School and trains there full-time. I love ballet and dance. A day doesn’t go by that I don’t watch a few professional ballet dancers on Instagram or You Tube. I’m obsessed.
NM:: So fun! Let's talk more about Vegas. When we think of Vegas, we think of the strip, tell us what we have been missing out on when you go past the slot machines.
MW:: Las Vegas has beautifully master planned communities with parks, walking and bike trails. My favorite place is Red Rock Canyon. I live only 10 minutes from some of the best hiking! It’s stunningly beautiful.
The Las Vegas strip is one of the brightest places on earth when viewed from outer space. I live in Summerlin a suburb of Las Vegas, and there are many unique shops and phenomenal dining. Downtown Summerlin is the newest outdoor mall and it's a fabulous place to shop, dine and hangout. I, (of course) love the Container Store and Town Square. You can often catch me at The Smith Center. It's the perfect place to catch a ballet, concert or Broadway show. I love a show of any kind! Vegas is perfect for this on and off the strip.
NM:: Can you share with our readers what your favorite organizing product that you can't live without (think outside the box…or bin)
MW:: I’m obsessed with pretty notepads and notebooks. I love making lists. Sugar Paper has some pretty great options that I'm really in to. I organize all my projects, errands and shopping lists so I can accomplish them geographically and efficiently. (As any NEAT gal would do!)
NM:: So what is your favorite tv show as it relates to the home? There are so many to choose from these days!
MW:: I’m currently fascinated with the Tiny House craze. It’s the master of minimal living and organization. I love the Property Brothers especially with them making Las Vegas their home. I’m a sucker for a good before and after.
NM:: There are so many celebrities that take up temporary residency in Vegas which means that they certainly need help getting settled. If you could pick, who makes your list of people you would want to help get settled in Las Vegas?
MW:: Celine Dion, Penn Gillette, Carrot Top (I run in to him all over town)…I’d love to organize all his props!
NM:: Carrot Top! We did not expect that answer… although knowing you… maybe we should have! 🙂 Okay, final question and we will let you go – what is your favorite NEAT space that has been completed and why?
MW:: I love an organized pantry. I love helping clients save time and money because they can easily see what they have and what they need.
NM:: That happens to be an all around favorite it seems! We look forward to seeing your NEATest space in Vegas, Mel. Welcome to the NEAT life!
xx
