Between school drop-offs, work deadlines, and half empty cups of coffee, life as a mom can get chaotic! The good news? A little organization goes a long way. Here's how getting organized transforms motherhood, with practical tips from NEAT founders, Ashley and Marissa, who both juggle running a business while raising their own kids.

1. Kids become more independent (and you get a break!)
"I've created systems for my boys to be self-sufficient which not only alleviates what they need from me, but also boosts their confidence," says Ashley Murphy, NEAT CEO and mom of two active boys.
Try this: Create a kids snack zone in your pantry or kitchen by designating a basket or drawer within reach of little hands. Add grab and go snacks, making sure to remove any excess packaging (ex: take those granola bars and fruit snacks out of the box).

2. Mornings become manageable (maybe even pleasant!)
The morning rush becomes so much easier when everything has a home. No more frantic searches for missing shoes or homework! Ashley shares: "Mornings are smoother because backpacks have a designated hook and everyday shoes tuck neatly out of the way. We waste less time searching and have more time connecting."
Try this: Set up a simple "drop zone" near your door with hooks for backpacks, a basket for shoes, and a small tray to corral permission slips and other important papers.

3. Your systems grow alongside your kids
As your kids grow, their stuff and needs change too. Smart organization adapts with them.
"My biggest revelation has been learning to adjust our organization as my daughters grow," says Marissa Hagmeyer, NEAT's COO and mom of two girls. "The same bins I used for baby clothes now keep my girls’ toys organized."
Try this: Choose quality organizers that can serve different purposes as your children grow. Make an effort to go through their belongings once a season and adjust and relabel categories as needed.

4. Your home becomes a place of calm on busy days
Maybe the biggest win is the mental clarity that comes with an organized space. "Walking into a tidy drop zone after a chaotic day gives me a moment of peace that's priceless when you're juggling work and motherhood," Ashley says.
Try this: Start with organizing just one small area that causes you daily stress, whether that’s your entryway or kitchen counter. Even one streamlined space can become your reset button during hectic days.
The best part about getting organized as a mom? As Marissa puts it: "Being organized isn't about restriction—it's about creating space for what matters most in each season of life."
And, I think we can all agree that time together is the most important thing.
