Brooklyn's NEATest Makeover: A Look Inside the Real Simple Home 2024

Tuesday, September 10, 2024

Ever wondered what happens when you mix a historic Brooklyn brownstone with modern design and elevated organization? The answer is the Real Simple Home 2024, and we're thrilled to share that we were a part of it!

Old Meets New in Brooklyn

Imagine walking into a house from the 1890s that feels totally 2024. That's what the team behind the Real Simple Home pulled off. Designers, architects, and developers came together to turn this old-school brownstone into a dream home that's both gorgeous and practical.

NEAT's Special Touch

So, where did we come in? NEAT got to work our magic on three key spaces: the pantry, laundry room, and primary bedroom closet. Our goal? Make these rooms look amazing and work even better behind closed doors.
Pantry Perfection

Let's talk pantry goals. We set up a system that makes finding ingredients as easy as pie (pun intended). Brass Perforated Baskets and a strategically placed Acacia Riser mean no more digging around for that elusive can of tomatoes. Bonus, sophisticated labels make it clear to everyone in the home where all the snacks can be found (and where they can be put away).

Laundry Room Love

Doing laundry might not be anyone's idea of a good time, but this revamped laundry room makes it way less of a chore. We implemented translucent canisters and Acacia Turntables that put everything right where you need it. By thoughtfully placing daily use items like detergent and dryer balls at eye level, laundry day doesn't seem so bad! Pro Tip: Reserve lower shelves for less often accessed cleaners and back stock categories.
Closet Dreams Come True

Ever wish your closet felt like a luxury boutique? That was our main goal when creating a space plan for the primary closet. Getting dressed in the morning is made simple with the use of slimline hangers and Oxford Bins. We also crafted an easy access drop-zone using Lined Acacia Trays to corral go-to accessories.

Why NEAT's Approach Works

Here's our secret to organizing success: we don't just make spaces look pretty. We make them work hard too. In the Real Simple Home, we showed how good organization can make your daily routines easier and more enjoyable. It's not just about being NEAT – it's about creating spaces that support your lifestyle.

Feeling a little envious of this Brooklyn beauty? Don't worry – you don't need to live in a designer-level brownstone to have an organized home. The solutions we used in the Real Simple Home can work just about anywhere!
