Before & After | Ashley’s Mudroom

Thursday, May 23, 2019

If you’ve been following us for a while, you may remember our very own Ashley Murphy did a huge renovation to her beautiful historic Chicago home! We already revealed her stunning kitchen space, but now it’s time for the mudroom to get some time in the spotlight!

Designer :: Kate Marker Interiors

Builder :: McNaughton Brothers

Photographer :: Stoffer Photography

Not only did this space get a complete visual upgrade, but a functional one too!

The laundry closet was large, but not efficient. Adding a stackable washer and dryer allowed for more space for what the family really needed – a drop zone for the adults & kiddos.

This space proves that sometimes less is more! Even though the laundry takes up less space, the functionality is WAY better, and a few of our favorite products made it NEAT. Shop similar bins, baskets and labels to recreate the look.

The previous entryway wasn’t taking full advantage of the home’s natural light and flow into the kitchen.

Now this light and airy space is so welcoming and a wonderful place to take a load off while taking off your shoes!

Baskets under the benches serve as drop zones for kids shoes, and the ventilated cabinets serve as the coat closet – which is necessary most of the time in Chicago!

What’s your favorite part of this transformation?

xx,

The NEAT Girls
