New NEAT City | St. Louis

We want to welcome Jami Cohen and Jennifer Barton of St. Louis, Missouri to the NEAT team. We are thrilled to have them. Let’s find out more about what makes them so NEAT.

NM :: Why do you want to run NEAT in your city?

JC ::  For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for everything organized! It provides me with peace of mind, whether in my own home or in my former classroom settings.  I have seen how beneficial an organized space can be for everyone.  I am super excited to use my talents, together with Jen, to bring NEAT into the beautiful homes in our town!

JB :: Helping others organize their space is so rewarding. I am looking forward to bringing joy and peace of mind to others. Having an organized space makes it much easier to focus on the other important things in life

NM :: What did you do before NEAT?

JC ::  Before joining Neat, I was an early childhood and elementary school teacher for 8 years!  I also stayed at home to raise my 3 babies (who aren’t babies anymore), Emma (16), Morgan (13) and Blake (8).......and I can’t forget my fur baby, Beau (4)!

JB :: Before NEAT I was a freelance makeup artist for 15 years and a stay at home mom to my 9 and 6 year old Olivia and Emma.

NM :: What makes your city unique?

JC ::  St. Louis is a big city with a small town feel!  It’s a wonderful place to raise a family with some of the country’s best public and private school systems.  The housing market is always thriving whether you are looking to settle down in a quiet suburb or make one of the smaller, urban niches your spot to live.  We have wonderful restaurants and local small businesses that residents love to support.  St. Louis is a huge sports town...you will see many devoted Cardinals and Blues fans sporting their gear anywhere you go!

JB :: One of my favorite things about St Louis is that most people come back after college to raise their families. It's such a tight knit community and a small town feeling.  I feel very lucky to be raising my girls in St Louis.

NM :: How long have you lived in your city?

JC ::  I grew up St. Louis and have lived here most of my life.   My husband and I spent 3 years in Washington, D.C. but knew we would come back to STL to raise our children around family.

JB :: I have lived in St. Louis for 8 years. We are so happy to be here and raise our family in the midwest.

NM :: What are your favorite places to eat in your city?

JC :: My favorite places to eat in St. Louis are Katie’s Pizza, Tratoria Marcella, Annie Gunn’s, and Amigo’s!

JB :: My favorite places to eat in St Louis are Pastaria, La Tajana, Nixta, Olio and of course Clementines for dessert.

NM :: What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT in your city?

JC ::   I think my favorite part of running NEAT in STL is getting to know our clients and working closely with local professionals to provide a unique service to our community.   I am super excited to work alongside Jen, who is one of the most amazing, creative people I know!

JB :: My favorite part is having a business with Jami, one of my favorite people. I’m looking forward to being a part of a small business and growth in our community. I can't wait to meet more people and bring a unique service to them.

NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?

JC :: People can expect a high level of professionalism when working with our team. Allowing someone into the most intimate spaces of your home can often times make clients feel uneasy.   We want to make the process as easy and stress free as possible by providing both efficient and sustainable ways to organize spaces in a judge-free and respectful manner.

JB :: People can expect a high level of professionalism while working with us and pure joy when we leave at the end of the day. We will give them a stress free experience and leave them with a well organized, functional and sustainable space. We will make sure they always feel comfortable letting us into their homes and personal space.

NM :: Do you have any hidden talents that we should know about?

JC ::  I’m fairly good at party planning!  I love coordinating details, putting together table centerpieces and creating a theme-centered celebration!

JB :: I love to create artwork and repurpose furniture in my home. Turn a simple mirror into a fun cool piece with some wooden balls, spray paint and glue.

We want to come party at your houses! Congratulations on launching St. Louis, Ladies. We’re so excited to have you join NEAT!

xx
