It’s the final launch week of 2019 and we can’t believe what a year it’s been. This launch is slightly different because instead of starting brand new markets, each of the ladies you’re about to meet are taking over for a current owner who is transitioning to a different season in life and needed to hand the reigns over. We’re so excited for you to meet the new women joining the ranks!
Please help us welcome the two sisters Lindsay Herrick & Kelly Platte taking over the Columbus, Ohio market.
NM :: Why do you want to run NEAT in your city?
LH & KP :: Because Columbus is our hometown, our family and friends live here and we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
NM :: What makes your city unique?
LH & KP :: You would never know that we are the 15th largest city in America (right behind San Francisco) because Columbus still maintains it’s small-town charm. Columbus is a very diverse, eclectic city full of creative, funky, intelligent people…in fact, we were recently named one of the seven most intelligent cities in the WORLD! Everyone in this town loves football and food! We are devoted Buckeye fans and the city becomes a ghost-town when The Shoe fills up for home games. Tailgating at OSU football games is a profession around here. Restaurants love to test all of their crazy ideas on Columbus to see how the rest of the country might like it.
NM :: How long have you lived in the city?
LH & KP :: Our entire lives, minus a short stint for both of us after college, only to return to our hometown to stay!
NM :: What did you do before NEAT?
KP :: I was a full-time parent for 18 years and enjoyed raising my children ages 21, 18 and 12 in Columbus. I held many career positions in my hometown before making the decision to be a full-time parent, including – Social Work Services at a Children’s Home and Account Services in Advertising. I recently went back to work in Interior Design/Sales Associate for a local high-end retail furniture company in Columbus, Trove Warehouse. I hold a degree in Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
LH :: I was a full-time parent for 13 years and have also loved raising my two boys ages 13 and 10 in Columbus. I hold a degree in Exercise Science and Education. After college I was a medical sales representative and I also taught High School Physical Education.
NM :: What are your favorite shopping spots around Columbus?
LH & KP :: Trove Warehouse, Truluck, Ladybird, Rowe, Thread, Vernacular, Homage, The North Market, Saks Fifth Ave, Nordstrom and Anthropologie.
NM :: What about your favorite places to grab a bite to eat?
LH & KP :: Hudson 29, Lindey’s, Harvest Pizzeria, Third & Hollywood, The Guild House, Basi Italia, Tasi Cafe, and The Rossi.
NM :: What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT Columbus?
LH & KP :: Definitely connecting with our clients and meeting new people. We’re excited to explore our city!
NM :: What can clients expect when they hire you to organize their home?
LH & KP :: They can rely on us giving 100%. We are dedicated to connecting with them, understanding their needs, and meeting their expectations with compassion, creativity and professionalism always.
NM :: Do you have any hidden talents that we should know about?
KP :: I love to help people solve problems by being thoughtful, patient and being a good listener. I clean like a mad woman! I love outdoor adventures…skiing, hiking, and rock-climbing. Even though I live in Ohio, I’m obsessed with the mountains.
LH :: I am a natural motivator and eager to help people recognize their full-potential. I’m energetic and love to make people laugh. I was a cheerleader for The University of North Carolina Tarheels. I can still do a backflip!
NM :: Anything else you think we should know?
LH & KP :: On the weekend you will find us at our lake house in Southern Ohio wake surfing, chilling on the dock and cooking some delicious dinners on the smoker! We both love to decorate for Christmas and start listening to Christmas music right after Halloween.
