Cuyana x NEAT with Amber Fillerup

Thursday, March 26, 2020

We've partnered with luxury apparel and accessories company, Cuyana, to help spread the message of a fewer, better wardrobe in combination with the importance of living NEAT. NEAT Method Scottsdale owner and organizer, Emmaley Otis, connected with Amber Fillerup Clark prior to self distancing mandates, to apply our message to her closet.

Our first step in organizing any space is to edit your belongings. With Emmaley's help, Amber focused on editing three key categories: swim, sweaters and trendy items she felt she was not reaching for often.  Within each category, she thought about which items she was most excited to wear this season, setting aside duplicates, well-loved items and any patterns or prints that no longer fit her current style. She then consigned and donated all of her edited clothing to Plato’s Closet, a local Arizona business.

After editing, our next task was to fold and bin all heavy winter clothing (it will be 100+ degrees here before we know it!) to store away until fall.  With that closet space freed up, we were able to hang swimsuit cover-ups and caftans, keeping them visible and accessible for pool season.  We also tidied up drawers with a fresh file fold, and color coded each category.  Finally, we displayed Amber’s fun accessories collections behind glass doors, using acrylic trays and stands to organize sunglasses, headbands and headscarves.

Stand out organizing products :: Woven milk crate to store slippers, clear drawer dividers and these stackable trays to display sunglasses.

Amber's favorite Cuyana products :: The blush travel case is beautiful and will get so much use.  Amber's closet is filled with lovely pink and blush tones and this bag fit right in! The lightweight cardigan is perfect for our current spring weather!  We packed her bulky sweaters away, and this is a great transition piece as it starts to warm up.

It was such a pleasure to organize for Amber again!  We originally unpacked her closet just over a year ago when she moved into her new home.  At that time, we focused on getting her out of boxes and ready to celebrate Christmas with her family.  For this session, it was so much fun to focus on honing her organizational systems and beautifully displaying each item in her closet.

What is your favorite part of Amber's Closet?

xx,

The NEAT Girls
