NEW Des Moines Owner

Friday, March 25, 2022

Our established market in Des Moines, Iowa is changing hands! We want to welcome Emily Peters, who has been organizing for NEAT Des Moines for many years, to the NEAT team. We are thrilled to have her. Let’s find out more about what makes her so NEAT.

NM :: Why do you want to run NEAT in your city?

EP :: NEAT Des Moines is a franchise that I have already had the pleasure of working for for collectively about 2 years. I have come to love not only organizing more through the previous owner, but have come to learn and love the Des Moines area more as well. I am excited to continue a company that is so valuable to people in a city that is growing more each day!

NM :: What did you do before NEAT?

EP :: Before working for NEAT, I was in marketing and public relations. I was a Marketing Coordinator for a trucking company for 2.5 years and the Public Relations Director for a hospital before deciding to go back to the NEAT life!

NM :: What makes your city unique?

EP :: Des Moines can be perfectly described as “a big, small town.” It is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. A capitol city that once may have been considered “boring” is now full of art, fine dining, a great music scene and so much more. It still feels like everyone knows everyone even though it is becoming more and more diverse and exciting, which I find very unique to other big cities! Des Moines is also unique because its suburbs are growing rapidly into fun, prosperous cities of their own.

NM :: How long have you lived in your city?

EP :: I have lived in the Des Moines area for 21 years! I grew up near Des Moines and then moved back after college.

NM :: What are your favorite places to eat in your city?

EP :: My favorite places to eat in Des Moines: Centro, Mulberry Street Tavern, Eatery A, Bubba, Wasabi Sushi, Exile Brewing, The Iowa Taproom, South Union Bread Company and Fong’s Pizza. And so many more!!

NM :: What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT in your city?

EP :: As mentioned, before becoming owner I have had the privilege of working for the previous owner, Sophie! My favorite part of running NEAT in Des Moines will be just to keep pursuing and growing what she has started. I am excited to learn more about NEAT, about Des Moines, to meet new people and for partnerships/collaboration with new companies in the area. I am also very excited to continue serving our existing clients!

NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?

EP :: When people hire me and the NEAT Des Moines team to organize their home, they can expect the “white glove” treatment. We will treat their home and their items with respect and will listen to their wants and needs for the space we are in. They can expect functionality while still getting a gorgeous space to live or work in!

NM :: What is your favorite organizing product?

EP :: My favorite product to use for organizing are bamboo drawer dividers and turntables. Another favorite are the Neat Method Perforated Acacia Baskets!

Great product choices! Congratulations on your ownership of NEAT Des Moines. We’re so excited to have you!

xx
