New NEAT City | Grand Strand

Thursday, May 25, 2023

We want to welcome Sara Sorrows of Grand Strand, South Carolina to the NEAT team. We are thrilled to have her. Let’s find out more about what makes her so NEAT.

NM : Why do you want to run NEAT in your city?

SS :  I love organizing! I would honestly list it as one of my favorite hobbies (which my hubby thinks is crazy!). I love what organizing gives me - more calm in chaos and less time spent managing my home and belongings. I believe it’s a skill that I was born with. I am thrilled to be helping clients gain those same things here along The Grand Strand.

NM : What did you do before NEAT?

SS : I was an elementary school teacher for almost a decade and have been blessed to be a full time mom for the past ten years. During my years of teaching, I was honored to help fellow teachers set up organization systems in their classrooms. The district I worked for even shared my classroom organization systems on their website as a tool for teachers throughout the community. As a stay at home mom I’ve had the privilege of speaking at MOPS groups on how to bring more peace to our homes through organization and organizing many spaces in churches and friend’s homes.

NM : What makes your city unique?

SS : The Grand Strand is unique because of the incredible mix of southern hospitality and beach life culture. The people are warm and welcoming and the lifestyle is laid back. The gorgeous 60 miles of uninterrupted beach offer an easy escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Myrtle Beach metro area is the fastest growing in the country for good reason!

NM : How long have you lived in your city?

SS : I have lived in Conway for almost three years. We love it here! We were drawn here because of the southern hospitality and charm, the small town feel of Conway, and the unprecedented growth in the Myrtle Beach area. Being 20 minutes from the beach isn’t bad either!

NM : What are your favorite places to eat in your city?

SS : Goodness! There are so many. Our favorite spots in Conway are Whitaker’s for sushi, The Trestle for a small town feel, and Chanti’s for delicious pizza. Our favorite Grand Strand spots are Wicked Tuna in Murrells Inlet, Parlor Doughnuts in Pawleys Island, New York Prime in Myrtle Beach, Boardwalk Billys in North Myrtle, and no trip to Cherry Grove is complete without a stop at Boulineau’s.

NM : What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT in your city?

SS : Since I was a child, organization has come naturally to me. I often tell people it is just the way my mind works. I have experienced countless times where friends and family have expressed their desire to be more organized but they believe they just CAN'T do it. It brings me so much satisfaction and JOY when I am able to bring organization to their spaces. I have seen first hand the stress relief and peace that comes from having organized spaces. Also, I genuinely believe that being organized gives us more of our most precious resource - time. I can’t wait to bring those to clients in my community.

NM : Show us a picture of your most organized space and tell us what it is.

SS : I would say our master closet is our most organized space. It’s a space that only my husband and I use so it is the easiest to maintain order. It also saves us so much time getting ready because we know exactly where every item can be found.

NM : What about your least organized space? What the heck happened?

SS : Our least organized space is probably our guest bedroom closet. It is the least used space in our home so it can be an easy spot to stash things that don’t have a home yet.

NM : We totally get it. It's so easy for items to get stashed behind closed doors. What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?

SS : Clients can expect enthusiastic hard-work, the utmost discretion, and a custom finished product that has both beautiful form and function. A sustainable system that will make their lives easier is my top priority.

NM : What is your favorite organizing product?

SS : Oh, hands down, a label!! I label ALL THE THINGS!! Living with 4 boys, it is the only way to maintain the organization… most of the time ;)

We completely support the label love. Congratulations on launching Grand Strand. We’re so excited to have you join NEAT!

xx
