NEW Fort Lauderdale Owner
South Florida is one of our most established markets, but a new NEAT girl is taking over! Kris White has been a NEAT girl for a while as a Lead Organizer in South Florida, but we’re excited to announce that she is now managing the Ft. Lauderdale market! One of our Owners, Marissa Hagmeyer, used to run this territory but as she says, “It is with great honor that I pass off the reigns to Kris, she has been essential to my team for the past 3 years and will manage this city well while I focus on supporting all of our 35 cities.”
We wanted everyone to get to know her as well as we have over the years, so we asked her a few questions. See why South Florida is still in great hands!
NM :: Tell us why you wanted to run NEAT in your city?
KW :: I have been working for NEAT for nearly 3 years and I absolutely love it. I enjoy helping our clients meet their goals of living a simple and more organized life. Not only do I feel a great sense of accomplishment at the end of every project, but the clients are so excited and appreciative too. I could never go back to sitting behind a desk!
NM :: You've been with NEAT for a while, but what did you do before you started organizing?
KW :: Prior to NEAT I was a paralegal for 20+ years.
NM :: You must be a hard worker! What do you think your favorite part will be about running NEAT?
KW :: I actually have three favorites – owning a business, doing what I love and completing rewarding projects. NEAT has already changed my life so much and I look forward to being a larger part of an exciting business that is constantly growing! It also doesn't hurt that I am surrounded by beautiful and smart business-minded women who inspire me everyday!
NM :: We're thrilled you are a part of the family! How long have you lived in South Florida?
KW :: I have been living here for 23 years!
NM :: Wow! So you must know a lot about the area! What makes your city unique?
KW :: South Florida is a very transient location with a ton of culture, so we are able to service a wide variety of clients! Also we have a warm weather climate year-round so South Floridians are typically very active. Our cilents often have trouble finding enough hours in the day to manage an organized personal and professional life, and that's where we come in!
NM :: Sounds like a great place to call home! What are your go-to shopping spots in the city?
KW :: I'm actually not much of a shopper at all, however, sometimes you just have to do it! When I do, I find myself mostly at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Macy's, Francesca's, Etiquette Boutique, Gap, Old Navy and of course, if I had the funds to back me up I could spend all day at The Container Store!
NM :: Speaking of The Container Store, do you have a favorite prodcut there you like to organize with?
KW :: That's a tough question, but if I had to pick only one I would have to say the Linus Clear Bins. They are avialable in multiple sizes and can be used in just about every room to contain and organize.
NM :: Do you have any go-to restaurants in your area?
KW :: Truthfully, I’m more of a homebody. I usually only eat out on occasion, so I like to visit my favorites in Fort Lauderdale – Coconuts, Sushi Rock, Anthony’s Runway 84, Mai Kai, B Square, Foxy Brown & Spazio.
NM :: Yum! What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?
KW :: Our South Florida clients can expect for us to meet and exceed their goals in organizing – we make each space beautiful, functional and easily sustainable.
NM :: As a new business owner is there a specific business that you admire?
KW :: I truly admire Simplify Organization. This company was founded in 1999 by a close childhood friend of mine, Amy Rehkemper. Organizing was not a well known business and most people didn’t even understand how she could have a business organizing for other people. She’s been my inspiration ever since! I love that she made a successful business from something she loves doing.
NM :: What an awesome story! Before we wrap up is there anything else we should know about you?
KW :: I am extremely excited and appreciative for this opportunity. I have never been more proud to answer the question, “What do you do for a living?” NEAT has brought me such and purpose in my life and I look forward to being a strong asset to the company as we continue to grow.
We couldn’t be happier that Kris is an even bigger part of the NEAT family now. Join us in congratulating her as she launched Fort Lauderdale! We are excited to see all of her beautifully organized spaces.
