We want to welcome April Karn of South Detroit, Michigan to the NEAT team. We are thrilled to have her. Let’s find out more about what makes her so NEAT.
NM :: Why do you want to run NEAT in your city?
AK :: South Detroit is often under the radar. (Other areas just don’t know how great we really are!) I love living here and being part of this special community. I really believe that NEAT can enhance South Detroiters lives by making their living space more organized so we can get out and enjoy everything South Detroit has to offer!
NM :: What did you do before NEAT?
AK :: I am a former piano teacher/stay at home mom, currently selling real estate in Southeast Michigan.
NM :: What makes your city unique?
AK :: The South Detroit area is a collection of several cities and townships surrounded by four major waterways. We are hard working people with a rich history. The individual cities are literally connected by water, and biking and hiking trails. People moving to the area are always surprised by what we have to offer. We have nature, museums, marinas, parks, and so many great places to eat and shop!
NM :: How long have you lived in your city?
AK :: “...born and raised in South Detroit.” (kidding - I can’t stand that song!) I was born and raised in Trenton, lived wherever the Coast Guard sent our family for many years and then returned to the area 14 years ago. We reside on Grosse Ile - an island located in the middle of the Detroit River.
NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?
AK :: Complete professionalism, premier customer service, a team of stellar home organizers, discretion, respect, and a joyful attitude!
NM :: What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT in your city?
AK :: Making people happy! Seeing someone smile after my work is done is extremely rewarding. I look forward to forging new relationships with people in my community and truly making them feel content with the service we provide!
NM :: Show us a picture of your most organized space and tell us what it is.
AK :: My shoes all have a home so it’s very easy to keep my side of the closet organized.
NM :: Love that! Do you have any hidden talents that we should know about?
AK :: It’s not really a hidden talent, but I still take ballet class and perform!
NM :: Wow, we are impressed and also a little jealous. You might have to teach us some moves! What is your favorite organizing product?
AK :: Our Cane Basket! Gorgeous and serves so many purposes. I also love our new hangers!
