Organizer Spotlight: Kristian Dunning

When you're on vacation, organizing is probably the last item on your to-do list. Our client felt the same way about their 4-bedroom retreat in Traverse City. As a family of three plus a dog, they wanted a kitchen that felt calm and inviting without constant upkeep.

The main focus was creating a space where the family could truly unwind. "We wanted our client to be completely relaxed in their kitchen. Time for just fun, no work!" explains Kristian Dunning, NEAT Method Grand Rapids owner and professional organizer. Armed with an understanding of the how the space is used, Kristian and her team got to work.

Tall, white kitchen cabinet opened to reveal neatly arranged dishes and drinking glasses.

"Since this is a vacation home, they also wanted a system that was very easy to maintain," Kristian says. "To ensure the space stays organized long term, we provided boundaries to each category with bins, turntables and dividers. But most importantly, we labeled everything so everyone knows where items belong!"

The family's favorite feature supports stress-free meal prep. "The clients loved the kid area we created by placing Oxford Bins in the island. These contain toys and activities for their son to stay busy while his parents cook."

The most impactful product was used throughout the kitchen. "Springform Acacia Drawer Dividers were placed in drawers to separate categories like pantry snacks and dish towels and keep them from shifting."

Seven hours and two organizers later, this Grand Rapids vacation home is ready for relaxation - whether it's a quick weekend visit or an extended summer stay. Need help organizing your own kitchen? Our professional organizers in Grand Rapids can create systems customized to your needs.
