New NEAT City | Macon

We want to welcome Windy Dehem of Macon, Georgia to the NEAT team. We are thrilled to have her. Let’s find out more about what makes her so NEAT.

NM :: Why do you want to run NEAT in your city?

WD ::  I love seeing the excitement on people’s faces when their new space is revealed. I love the feedback I receive from my family and friends telling me how they feel so refreshed and have a sense of calm when they are in their new organized space and how now they are inspired to tackle more projects and continue the work throughout their homes. Today’s families are so incredibly busy. I love that our homes can be our quiet sanctuaries of respite and relaxation--or dance parties in the kitchen! Places where we can unwind and recharge however we need it. I truly believe a clutter free, organized space helps bring this to families’ lives, because when everything has its place and there’s a system, it’s easier to keep things picked up and put away. There’s nothing like that “ahhhh” moment when you sit down with a glass of wine at the end of a long day, and the house is clean and tidy. I want to bring “ahhh” moments to people all over Middle Georgia!

NM :: What did you do before NEAT?

WD :: I have been fortunate to stay at home with my two girls for TEN years! I am so incredibly thankful for my husband and the hard work he has put in to make my first “retirement” possible. I worked in advertising/marketing for 16 years before I “retired”--as we like to jokingly put it. Along with shuffling my girls all over the Southeast for their travel softball, soccer and basketball games, I’ve kept busy with consulting projects, serving on various Boards and committees throughout our community, and playing a lot of tennis!

NM :: What makes your city unique?

WD ::  My small town of Perry, GA, is absolutely wonderful! It is lovingly dubbed “Perrydise” by those who know and love it.  We have a thriving downtown district with gorgeous boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants, and an active staff at our local City of Perry and Chamber offices who bring in multiple outdoor festivals and events throughout the year. We are just outside of Warner Robins where we make our Target and TJ Maxx runs, and only 30 minutes from Macon where they too have great shops and restaurants.

NM :: How long have you lived in your city?

WD :: As an adult, I’ve lived in Perry for 16 years. And growing up, I attended The Westfield School here in Perry from 6th through 12th grades.

NM :: What are your favorite places to eat in your city?

WD :: This is a hard one! I LOVE to eat!! For something fast, I’d go with a Georgia Bob’s barbeque or pimento cheese ‘sammich or tacos at the Margarita’s on 96. If we are going out for dinner, it’s either sushi at Kin.D in Warner Robins, or we’ll head into Macon for MirMar small plates or to The Back Burner for a nice multi-course dinner.

NM :: Show us a picture of your most organized space and tell us what it is.

WD ::  My most organized space is definitely my closet. When we built our home nearly 8 years ago, one of my “must haves” was a separate master closet from my husband. This is the one space in our home that is not shared by the family, so I can keep it exactly like I want it. I’m a huge advocate of file folding everything. I love storing accessories where you can easily see all of the options. And I’m a fearless warrior when it comes to editing.

NM :: What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT in your city?

WD ::  Helping people tackle all sorts of “problem” areas. I love a challenge!! I’m excited to have a different dilemma to solve every week!

NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?

WD :: Honesty, hard work, a fresh solution to making their favorite things look great. I’ve been told I have a “strong” personality, and I’m going to be honest about what needs to be tossed. But I’m 100% a sentimentalist, so if you love something, we will make it work! Also, I love that part of NEAT’s core values is discretion. I love that you say “We never NEAT and tell.” And along those lines, clients can rest easy that their space is a judgement-free zone. Everyone has a hot mess space that for whatever reason is just a disaster area, and trust me, I’ve seen it all and no judgements will be passed.

We’re so excited for you! Congratulations on launching Macon.

xx
